In Hello Pop! Ted Healy is trying to put on a stage show, despite constant interruptions. Especially from his disobedient sons (Moe Howard, Larry Fine, Curly Howard)!

Hello Pop! (1937) starring Ted Healy, Three Stooges, Bonnie Bonnell

Hello Pop! is a funny Ted Healy and his Stooges short. It’s the opening night of Ted’s new play, and it’s a series of interruptions, not the least which are his sons – Moe Howard, Larry Fine, Curly Howard.

Comedy highlights

  • Recurring fight with the Italian musician — where’s my flute? I don’t know!
  • Running gag with Bonnie Bonnell who simply wants to ask him one question. But he has no time and keeps pushing her out of the way. Until the end of the short, which actually has a funny conclusion.
  • His “sons” sneak into the backstage, And poor Brophy is charged to keep them out of sight, and out of trouble. Which fails miserably.
  • They get dressed in someone else’s costumes, ruin the script, and running for cover — hide under the leading lady’s enormous hoop skirt!
  • When she’s on stage with Ted, the Stooges do something underneath the skirt, causing her to storm off! So Healy covers with a dance number.
