“In Playing the Ponies, the Three Stooges are tricked into trading their restaurant for Thunderbolt, a washed up racehorse. But when Curly accidentally feeds Thunderbolt some chili pepperinos by mistake, the horse runs like lighting towards the nearest water trough. Realizing the pepperinos can lead Thunderbolt to victory, the Stooges try to win their money back by entering Thunderbolt in a big race.”

“A Plumbing We Will Go begins with the Three Stooges in court, on charges of stealing chickens. It’s a funny scene, with Moe acting as a ventriloquist. Curly and Larry sit on his lap as the dummy. The judge throws the case out due to lack of evidence, and Curly pulls his hat out of his pocket …. Letting fly a small storm of chicken feathers falling all over the arresting officer, played by Stooge regular Bud Jamison. The Three Stooges snap their fingers in the officer’s face on the way out of the courtroom, who has trouble with it. And ends up with a kick in the seat of the pants from the officer.”

The new material is funny enough to justify watching the short, unlike many of their remakes.”
